Oath of Council’s Membership

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful

I _______________________________ son of _______________________________

whom the members of the Jama’at-e-Islami ___________ have elected as member of the ___________ Council, invoke Allah, the Lord of the Universe, as witness and swear on oath that:

1.      I shall give priority to obedience and loyalty to Allah and His Prophet over any other consideration.

2.      I shall abide by and remain loyal to the Constitution of the Jama’at and the rules of the Council.

3.      I shall never absent myself from the sessions of the Council without valid reason admissible in Shari’ah.

4.      I shall forthrightly express my real opinion on all issues according to my knowledge, faith, and conscience, and shall never connive.

5.      I shall do my best to remove any defects I may find anywhere in the Jama’at’s system and work.
