In Pakistan,
educational curriculum has always remained a piece of
cake. All kinds of treacheries & gimmickries are used to
apply on this field. Islamic teachings & philosophy,,
quranic verses & methods of salah excluding from the
syllabus. The chapters of Pakistan movement which by
revealing the truth hurts the feelings of India are also
on stake. On the other hand vulgar topics & issues are
planned to become the part of our curriculum.
The federal minister of religious
affairs Ejaz ul haq recommended inserting Christian
doctrine in our syllabus. Although he didnt mention
which doctrine is suitable for our young minds; its
protestant, catholic or evangelical doctrine.
Now an English weekly magazine
Plus discloses that a book Pakistans stories is
inserted in the syllabus of O LEVELS & its the
conspiracy to bring obscenity & vulgarity in the young
minds. It is taught by garrison academies. The book is
published by a famous publishing house of Urdu bazaar
Lahore & it is the revised edition of Cambridge
University. The book is crowded with offensive & nasty
dialogues, & harsh language. Its not clear if federal
minister of education has himself gone through the book
& if its so we are sure he wouldnt let his children &
grand children to read this book. The contents of book
are beyond expression. But our leaders will declare that
its done without their permission & unfortunately in
Pakistan things usually happen in ignorance. According
to the magazine after Sep 11 the u turns in foreign
policy can be understood but such a devastating change
in educational policy is quite pathetic. Sep 11
incidence has altered many policies but has it changed
the whole doctrine of Islam, its culture & values?
Absolutely not, but Musharrafs govt is working to
modify the worthy values. What will we have sexuality
with obscenity in our syllabus? Tomorrow we will witness
the famous novels of Minto & Asmat Chughtai in our
curriculum. To keep our young generation ignorant about
the Islamic heroes is good enough; otherwise they will
produce the germs of safeguarding their faith &
independence.
