Swat vidoe conspiracy to block Shariah Adl in Swat: JI |
LAHORE, Apr 6: Jamaat-e-Islami Shoora has expressed
strong concerns over a video clip showing flogging
of a girl being aired continuously from different TV
channels despite that serious dislike was expressed
against it and public protests were also held to
condemn it. In a resolution passed by the JI Shoora
in its meeting at Mansoorah, which was issued by JI
Media Cell, the central decision making body of JI
expressed sorrow that it appeared that the massive
advertising campaign of the video is aimed at
preventing president Asif Zardari from signing the
Nizam-e-Adl Ordinance or create hurdles in the way
of Shariah enforcement in NWFP. The shoora said the
video looks a conspiracy instead of a humanitarian
effort, which will neither benefit people of Swat
nor help in establishing supremacy of law and
eliminating the prevailing chaos there. The
resolution demanded immediate implementation of the
Nizam-e-Adl Ordinance and the peace agreement
already announced by the government. It expressed
concerns over the delay in implementation of
Nizam-e-Adl and reminded that it has been a long
standing demand of the people of the area. These
people have been suffering from lawlessness for past
few years particularly during the military operation
of the last year, but they witnessed peace after the
peace agreement signed between government and
Maulana Soofi Mohammad. The Shoora also expressed
concerns over the increasing murder and looting
incidents in Dir Paeen district, bordering district
Swat, and cited an incident in which former district
Nazim and JI leader Alam Zeb Khan, his brother,
district Police officer and his companion were
ruthlessly murdered in broad day light. Their
killers were not apprehended. The shoora demand
government to maintain peace in Malakand division,
adding that government policy to control the armed
groups through local Lashkars has badly failed and
government should itself discharge the prime
responsibility of providing security to citizens.

Zardai had no option but to lift Gov rule: Munawwar |
LAHORE, Mar 28: The newly elected ameer of
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Syed Munawwar Hasan has
said president Zardari had no other option but to
lift Governor’s rule in Punjab and support the PML-N

made those announcements, the Punjab assembly would
have to be dissolved.
On constitution of committees for abolition of 17th
amendment, 58-2 (b) and C0D, he said such committees
were also formed in the past but never took any
practical steps. He said president Zardari’s address

Top Ulema, leaders slam beard ban on PIA crew |
LAHORE, Feb 20: Noted religious scholars and Ulema
have strongly condemned PIA administration for
banning its employees to have beards, terming the
move as violation of Constitution of Pakistan and
Fundamental Rights. In a joint statement on
Friday, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan ameer Qazi Hussain
Ahmad, president Jamiat-e-Ittehadul Ulema Maulana
Abdul Maalik, JI naib ameer Chaudhry Aslam Salimi
Advocate, JI Sindh ameer Asadullah Bhutto, Director
Idara-e-Muarif Islami Hafiz Mohammad Idris, Jamia
Naeemia principal Dr Sarfraz Naeemi, JIU Punjab
president Maulana Abdul Jalil Naqshbandi, JIU
Karachi president Maulana Abdul Rauf, Agha Mohammad
Mansoor and Maulana Syed Mahmood Farooqi have said
PIA has tried to please Washington by banning its
male Cabin Crew to have beards.
They said in a recent notification, PIA administration has announced to have
reviewed its policy regarding beards, and said now male cabin crew could not
grow beards and they could only have French Cut beards. They said Pakistan is an
ideological country having 99 per cent Muslim population and PIA
administration's new policy is a stark violation of Sunnah of Holy Prophet
(pbuh) and an attempt to please the West.
They noted that most of the western countries have adopted anti-Islam
policies like France where Muslim girls are banned to wear headscarves, while on
the other hand Pakistani authorities devoid of self respect and Muslim honor are
imposing such bans to hurt Muslim feelings and undermining country's ideology.
They said US and western slavery adopted by Gen Musharraf is not only continuing
but has been enhanced by president Zardari. They said religious freedoms have
not been suppressed in any independent and sovereign country while rights of
minorities are also protected but it is only the shameless rulers of Pakistan
that are taking pride in enemy slavery and to suppress the religious rights of
huge majority.
They have strongly demanded of PIA to lift the ban on employees to have
beards

JI women lash out at fixing equal women job quota |
LAHORE, Feb 10: Leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami women wing
have strongly criticized the decision of allocating
50 per cent job quota to women by the Senate
Standing Committee for women welfare, terming it
highly dangerous and destructive for the family
system and values. In a statement on Tuesday, JI
women wing secretary general Rukhsana Jabeen, Sameea
Raheel Qazi ex-MNA, chairman JI Women Commission
Aafia Sarwar, alleged that pro-west women elite
wanted to pull Pakistani women out of their homes to
act as cynosure of all eyes. They reminded that the
family system of western societies were totally
destroyed along with family values because they made
women to work hand in hand with men in all fields,
reducing women to just a money making machine.
The JI women stressed that the moral
degeneration caused by such greed undermined the
western societies. They stressed that making
women to do jobs along with men was not
necessary for national development because
working women could not bring up and train their
children properly that caused far greater
problems than the meager money they earn.
Instead, they said, proper education and
training of young generations and women's role
in achieving that objective is vitally important
for national development.
They emphasized that Allah Almighty has fixed
responsibility to earn livelihood on men, and
not women. They said they were not against jobs
of women since women can do jobs in Education,
Health and other related sectors where women
were required to do jobs.

Islamabad should quieten west against Dr Qadeer:
Munawar |
LAHORE, Feb 7: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Syed
Munawar Hasan has said that Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan is
the most revered national hero after Quaid-e-Azam
since he achieved the feat of protecting the
homeland against enemies. Addressing a reception
hosted by Shabab-e-Milli in honor of journalists
here Saturday, Munawar Hasan said Western countries
need not enraged on Dr AQ Khan's release and run
their countries according to their own agenda and
leave Pakistan alone to solve its problems on its
own. He asked Pakistani government to ask the
western countries to be in their limits and refrain
from pointing fingers on Pakistani hero. He stressed
that in order to make lawyers' long march and sit-in
a success there should be complete understanding
among all the parties supporting this cause from the
day one. He advised the PPP government to display
some sanity and restore Chief Justice Iftikhar
Mohammad Chadurhy before long march by restoring the
judiciary on the position of Nov 2, 2007. He said
PPP government has become unpopular so quickly which
is a record time.
He said the reasons of this sudden unpopularity
could be found in the policies and attitudes of PPP
government. He criticized president Zardari for
terming Kashmiris as terrorist and said president
should have apologized timely for his slurs against
Kashmiris who have been fighting a war of Pakistan.
He said since the president seems to have no moral
courage to do that, Jamaat-e-Islami now apologizes
to Kashmiris on behalf of Pakistani nation which
observed a solidarity day for them on Feb 5.
Replying to queries, Munawar Hasan said the
ruthlessness Pakistan Army is showing in killing
people in Swat has shocked everyone.Citing the eye
witness accounts of some Swat residents, Munawar
said it is hard to believe that it is Pakistan's
Army which is doing that. He said ANP claims to be
champion of Pakhtun's rights but it badly failed to
stop massacre of Pakhtuns being committed it its
government.
He said ANP had always supported enemies of
Pakhtuns in the history. He recalled that at the
time of creation of Pakistan, Bacha Khan was an ally
of Mr. Gandhi and during Soviet invasion on
Afghanistan it was an ally of Soviets, and now it is
an ally of Americans who are bombing and killing
Pakhtuns with impunity.

Army killing countrymen as 'Collateral Damage':
Qazii |
LAHORE, Feb 6: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain
Ahmad has warned that thousands of innocent people
including women and children are being killed in
army operation in Fata and Swat, and 99 per cent of
those killed were common citizens though Army called
it 'Colleteral Damage's. He was delivering Friday
sermon at Mansoorah Masjid. He said army operation
has created a strong reaction among local people who
now think that there is no difference between
America and Pakistan Army and other law enforcing
agenceis. He expressed sorrow that entire Swat
District has been destroyed by mortar shelling, tens
of thousands of people have evacuated their homes
and while those left faced with serious shortage of
food and medicines.
He said the only solution to the problem is
that amry should be immediately pulled out and
negotiation should be held with the local elders
and tribal heads who are fully capable of
controlling the situation. He said the issue can
only be solved after Pakistan announced giving
up US war on terror. He said US wants to
continue this war inside Pakistan at every cost
so that its nuclear assets could be destroyed as
collateral damage, thus protecting the Israel
and other western countries from the reported
threat from Pakistani nuclear arms.
Qazi expressed sorrow that PPP government is
showing more loyalty to America then Gen
Musahrraf as another individual is now making
all decisions bypassing the parliament. He
warned that tribal people have acted as an
unpaid army of Pakistan since the country was
created but he present government is turning
this army into enemies of Pakistan. Qazi said
common people of Tribal areas and Swat should be
taken into confidence in order to counter the
activities of US and Indian agents.
Meanwhile, JI naib ameer Hafiz Idris while
delivering Friday sermon at Maududi Institute
said Pakistani rulers have adopted US slavery
for personal interests and to plunder the public
money. He said Pakistan army is fighting a US
war against its own people. He said the Army
which should be used against Indian army to
liberate Kashmiri Muslims is busy killing its
own citizens in Fata and Swat. He asked the
countrymen to come out to support the victims of
military operation to provide them basic
necessities of life.

JI observes Kashmir/Palestine Day |
LAHORE, Feb 5: To express solidarity with the
oppressed Muslims of Kashmir and Palestine,
Jamaat-e-Islami observed Kashmir and Palestine
Solidarity Day on Thursday all over the country by
taking out rallies and holding public meetings in
all major cities and towns where JI leaders
addressed the participants. Addressing those
rallies and public meetings JI leadership condemned
the Israeli and Indian occupation of Muslim lands
and their heinous crimes against humanity being
perpetrated upon helpless Muslim population. They
denounced the civilized world in the west for giving
silent approval of Muslim genocide in Kashmir and
Palestine, and vowed to support freedom struggles in
the two states till they reached logical conclusion.
In Islamabad, JI ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad led
a large rally from Kashmir road to Constitution
Avenue which later turned into a public meeting.
The participants who were chanting slogans and
holding banners and placards, also made a long
chain of thousands of hands in order to express
solidarity with the oppressed Muslims of Kashmir
and Palestine. Addressing the participants Qazi
Hussain Ahmad said Washington, Nato and world
powers must understand that Kashmiris 61 year
old freedom struggle against Indian army has
proved that they could never be kept slaves. He
accused America and other world powers of
conspiring against Islam and Muslim people, and
said Muslim rulers are subjugating masses at gun
point to save the capitalist system. He also
condemned rulers for banning Jamaat ud Dawah and
other organization supporting Kashmir Jihad and
warned it could prove disastrous for national
defense. He warned that under a dangerous
conspiracy the masses and jihadi groups are
being made to fight against each other while
corrupt politicians are plundering billions of
rupees of public money in the name of NRO.
He asked the people to rise against the
capitalist system whose ideology is to exploit
the poor and keep them slaves of the elite in
the name of engineered elections. He said
Islamic system through a peaceful Islamic
revolution is the only answer to all the
problems facing the country since only Islam
provides justice, equality and peace to all. He
particularly warned against sowing hatred
against Pakistan army among people, and said
killing of innocent women and children in Swat
and other operations like Jamia Hafsa etc are
contributing a lot towards materializing this
conspiracy. He expressed sorrow that what a
mindless approach Pakistani rulers are making by
promoting peace and friendship with India at a
time when Delhi was talking about US like
surgical strikes on Pakistan. He said US is the
biggest terrorist in the world which had killed
millions of people in the world particularly
Japanese, Vietnamese, Cubans, Koreans Afghanis
and Iraqis with lethal bombs. He said Kashmiris
should be given the right to self determination
under UN resolutions but Pakistan has taken a
U-turn on its principled stance.
In Lahore, a large rally including men, women
and children was taken out from Nasir Bagh to
Punjab assembly led by JI secretary general Syed
Munawar Hasan and other leaders including
Director Foreign Affairs Abdul Ghaffar Aziz,
Amirul Azeem, Chaudhry Mohammad Shaukat, Abdul
Hafeez Ahmad, Anwar Gondal, Ziauddin Ansari and
Zikrullah Mujahid. The participants were holding
banners and placards written with slogans for
Kashmir's freedom and condemning Indian
atrocities on innocent Muslims.
Addressing the public meeting outside Punjab
Assembly, Munawar Hasan condemned president Asif
Zardari for terming Kashmiri freedom fighters as
terrorists and supporting the stance of
Washington and Delhi on the issue. He stressed
that Pakistani nation considers Kashmiris as
freedom fighters and will continue to help them
achiever their freedom from Indian occupation in
order to secure their lifeline as declared by
the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam.
He said president Zardari had neither been a
PPP worker nor suffered victimization, but he
only served jail for corruption charges. He said
Zardari got a lottery prize after Benazir
Bhutto's assassination to become president,
which is why he never disclosed the names of her
killers despite claiming to have known them. He
said Zardari is taking sides of the killers by
concealing their names.
Munawar Hasan said Pakistani army is killing
and bombing those tribals who had liberated the
Azad Kashmir from Indian occupation. He said it
was time Pakistan army should come out of the
war for American interests in tribal areas, and
follow the agenda of Pakistani nation. Munawar
Hasan criticized the Muslim rulers for
exploiting resources of Muslim countries for the
sake of their masters in Washington and
subjugating Muslim populations for their own
interests. He said Pakistani nation is not
averse to talks on Kashmir but India had always
used talks to delay the process and strengthen
her control on Kashmir.

Slaughtering people, blowing schools is not Islam:
Qazi |
LAHORE, Jan 30: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad has said that slaughtering people and
destroying girls' schools in response to state
repression is totally unjustified and such acts are not
Shariah but mutilation of Shariah. He was delivering
Friday sermon at Mansoorah Masjid, says a press release
by JI Media Cell. Qazi sahib said Islamic system brings
blessings and not persecution since neither the
followers of Islam frighten people nor masses have any
fears from Islam. He said Islamic shariah provides
complete security to the lives, property and honor of
the people. He said threatening barbers and forcing
people to have beards is not Sunnah since the Holy
Prophet (pbuh) never punished anyone for not having
beard or observing purdah. In fact the Prophet (pbuh)
motivated people towards these Islamic practices since
the civilization is promoted with encouragement, he
said. He said people of Swat say American hand and role
of government agencies could not be ruled out in
destruction of schools and the deterioration of the
situation. He said those opposing the government were
also encouraged by the elements which want to create
chaos in the country. He said the need of the hour is to
raise voice against US colonization and social evils
like injustice, corruption, vulgarity and lawlessness.
He said the bombs and missiles used by US planes to kill
tribal people are being supplied by our own government.
He said rulers have plundered public wealth and amassed
it in huge palaces in and outside the country. He said
our rulers are agents of enemies of Islam and it is
because of them our independence is usurped. He said a
collective struggle is needed to rid the country of
enemy agents and realize real independence. Meanwhile,
delivering Friday sermon at Maududi Institute, JI naib
ameer Hafiz idris said moral superiority of Muslims is
their real power since Islam was spread across the world
only because of their character, morals and honesty. He
said corrupt and characterless Muslim rulers are the
real cause of Ummah's problems since they feel proud in
enemy slavery and kill their own Muslim brothers for the
sake of enemies.

grossly violated international laws banning use of
chemical weapons like Phosphorus bombs on unarmed
civilians. They also condemned US and western

Palestinians, and lashed out at Muslim rulers for
their apathy towards Palestinian Muslims and
ignoring them in dire need when they were crying for

Qazi writes letter to Zardari, seeks Dr Aafia's
urgent repatriation |
LAHORE, Nov 24: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad has strongly demanded to the president
Asif Ali Zardari and PPP government to take
immediate measures ensuring repatriation of Dr Aafia
Siddiqi and her minor children to Pakistan from the
illegal custody of American FBI.. It is not just
the question of fundamental rights of an individual
and her children or a family in agony, but the
question of honor and dignity of whole Pakistani
nation, Qazi sahib said in a letter to President
Asif Ali Zardari, whose copies were also provided to
the media on Monday by JI Media Cell...
Besides president Zardari, the letter was also sent to Prime Minister Yousuf
Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Advisor on interior affairs
Rehman Malik and Dr Fauzia Siddiqi, sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqi.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said to the president, "I am writing this letter to you as
a Muslim, a citizen of Pakistan, as a father of two daughters, and a
representative of public opinion and with the hope that you share a common bond
with me regarding the ordeal and torture the poor daughter of the nation is
suffering at the hands of American agencies.
Qazi sahib said whether government of Pakistan admitted or not, it is talk of
the town that Dr Aafia Siddiqi was illegally abducted along with her three
children by one of our infamous intelligence agencies on her way from her home
in Karachi to the airport, and handed over or probably sold to American
authorities in Afghanistan.
This unfortunate daughter of Pakistan was sought after by US FBI only for
'possible information' without any terrorism charges ever leveled against her
anywhere in the world, he said. "Irrespective of whether she is guilty of any
crime or not, the question is, can a Pakistani national, let alone a women with
three small children, be handed over to another country with out going through
due judicial process, since there was no FIR, no charges of any nature or trial
inside the country?" Qazi asked.
Qazi said it is hard to believe that our authorities have sunk so low that
they would sell one of the honorable daughters of the nation to the armed forces
of a country considered an enemy in public perception. The people of Pakistan
would like to see the faces of all those involved in this heinous crime one day,
he said.
Qazi expressed deep anguish over the reports that Dr Aafia was brutally
tortured, reportedly raped by US armed forces personnel, shot by a US soldier,
and deprived of her basic human dignity. He said the fate of her now five year
old daughter and eight year old son is also at the mercy of their 'civilized'
captors, as only the eleven year old son could be recovered since he was
identified and located by the outside world and it was hard to justify his
illegal detention.
Qazi said Dr Aafia is now imprisoned in the notorious psychiatric facility
known as Carswell Psychiatric Center in Dallas, Texas,, with a gunshot wound and
kept without effective treatment. She has been diagnosed with "Chronic
Depressive Psychosis" supposed to be followed by requisite treatment that her
family suspect is a trick to effect her memory for cover up. She was recently
rendered physically and psychologically unfit to stand a trial by an American
court, and if an urgent attention is not paid to her condition, even her life
might be in danger, Qazi Hussain Ahmad warned.
"I hope you would be able to make a personal and immediate intervention in
this matter," Qazi sahib concluded, requesting for an urgent attention from the
president Zardari.

Aims of long-march, sit-in must be clear: Qazi |
LAHORE, Jan 19: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad has said dream of independent
judiciary in the country can never be fulfilled
without first reversing the unconstitutional steps
of Nov 3, 2007.. The 17th amendment ceased to
exist on the day Gen Musharraf refused to remove his
military uniform, he said while addressing a
reception hosted in honor of newly elected office
bearers of Sindh Bar Association and Karachi Bar
Association at Idara-e-Noor-e-Haq on Monday, says a
press release issued by JI Media Cell..
Qazi sahib termed the lawyers movement for
restoration of independent judiciary at golden
chapter of national history, however he
emphasized that the objectives of sit-in at
Islamabad should be made clear. He said his
party is not in favor of sit-ins staged in the
darkness of night and implementing others'
agenda. He asked that objectives of sit-in and
long march should be made clear and some
agreement should be made for the final round. He
said proper planning for entire sit-in should be
made to involve thousands of people in the
sit-in. He said those who change like seasons
can never bring change in the country..
The reception was also addressed by Sindh Bar
Association president Rasheed A Rizvi, Karachi
Bar president Mohammad Ali Abbasi and others. JI
Karachi ameer Mohammad Hussain Mehnti, secretary
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, president Islamic Lawyers
Movement Karachi Hashim Padhiar, Karachi Bar
General Secretary Naeem Qureshi, Iqbal Munshi
advocate, Sarwar Mohammad Khan Advocate, Iqbal
Aqeel Advocate, Abdul Wahid advocate, Ghaus
Bakhsh Marri Advocate, Sohail Mohammad Advocate,
Khaleeq Ahmad Advocate, Mansoor Ahmad Advocate,
Zafar Imam Advocate, Waqar Ahmad Sial Advocate,
Amir Masood Advocate, Azmat Hussain Advocate and
others were also present on the occasion.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad expressed sorrow that the
government elected by people as a result of
historic struggle by lawyers is pursuing the
same dictatorship policies of Gen Musharraf
instead of reversing those. He said the promises
made in Charter of Democracy have been ignored.
He said the lawyers movement is aimed at
restoring the institutions in the country.
Qazi sahib emphasized that having a political
ideology is no crime since political workers
offer sacrifices and make struggles only to
bring independence of institutions and
establishing political justice. Lawyers
community is offering the same sacrifice today,
he said. He warned that inducting new judges in
the system amounts to further destroying the
judiciary and as long as supremacy of
constitution was not restored and institutions
were not given independence the future of
political governments in the country will remain
uncertain at the hands of adventurers.

silence
|

Mansoorah Model School staged a demonstration on
Multan Road outside Mansoorah on Thursday to condemn
the Israeli invasion of Gaza and massacre of
innocnet people. Holding banners and placards
against the Israeli war crimes and US backing, the
children were raising slogans for supporting the
people of Gaza against Israeli army atrocities.
Addressing the children, Jamaat-e-Islami naib ameer
Hafiz Mohammad Idris said Israel was committing
unprecedented war crimes upon unarmed Palestinians
in Gaza but its mentor America and the whole western
world was watching with callous silence. He demanded
the Muslim world to sever ties with Israel
immediately and force a global boycott of Israel. He
harshly criticized those elements in Pakistan who
were talking about acknowledging Israel, and said it
amount to adding insult to the injuries of the whole
Muslim Ummah. He wished Salahuddin Ayubi were alive
among the ranks of Muslim Ummah to rid the innocent
Palestinians of the Israeli and American cruelties.
He said unfortunately the Ummah leadership was
playing the role of Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq, as they
were betraying the blood of innocent Muslim
children, women and men by continuing their
allegiance to Washington.

Qazi blasts Islamabad for shirking to help Gaza
victimss |
|
LAHORE, Jan 12: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain
Ahmad has strongly condemned Pakistan government's
reported silence on the Palestinian ambassador's
request for sending medicine relief for Gaza victims
of Israeli aggression. In a statement on Monday
issued by JI Media Cell, Qazi Hussain Ahmad said for
the first time in history Pakistan has avoided to
make even a formal condemnation of Israeli
aggression on innocent Palestinians or to condemn
Israeli attacks, but also refusing to help
Palestinian Muslim brothers on humanitarian basis
just because of Washington's fears. Qazi said the
whole nation condemns the apathy of PPP government
towards Palestinian Muslims. Qazi reminded the
rulers that even Hugo Chavez, the ruler of a weak
country, has displayed the sense of justice by
expelling Israeli ambassador but the powerful Muslim
rulers are behaving in a shameful manner by keeping
a criminal silence of Israeli naked aggression on
helpless Palestinians just because of fearing
Washington's backlash. Qazi expressed sorrow that
when Israel is bombing and killing innocent
Palestinian children, women and men, Pakistani high
commissioner in London, Wajed Shamsul Hasan, is
suggesting acknowledging Israel instead of
condemning Tel Aviv. Qazi demanded strict action
against Wajid Shamsul Hasan and recalling him from
the prestigious post for making highly irresponsible
move against the national policy and public
aspirations which amounts to adding insult to the
injuries of Muslim Ummah. He demanded immediate
sending of relief medicines and goods to Gaza and
use of all diplomatic resources to stop Israeli
attacks on Gaza. Meanwhile, Qazi Hussain Ahmad has
condemned the statement of Prime Minister Yousuf
Raza Gillani that US vice president elect Joe Biden
was awarded Hilal-e-Quaid-a-Azam for his pivotal
role in removing Gen Musharraf's uniform, saying 'it
is even worse to justify an earlier folly.' Qazi
said PM Gillani should keep in mind that Gen
Musharraf was removed as a result of glorious
struggle by Pakistani people, political parties and
lawyers community. But the PM has insulted PPP
workers and voters who voted for the party
considering it an opponent of Gen Musharraf. Qazi
said PM's statement is also a negation of national
sovereignty and he should take back his statement.
In a separate statment, JI deputy secretary general
Farid Paracha has also condemned Pakistani High
Commissioner in London, Wajid Shamsul Hasan, for
suggesting acknowledging Israel. He said it is hard
luck of the nation that people holding top
prestigious offices are agents of Washington, Tel
Aviv or Delhi. He demanded immediate apology from
the High Commissioner and Islamabad regime

JI asks Muslim world to rise for saving Al Aqsa from
Zionist destruction
|
|
LAHORE, Feb 14: Jamaat Islami has expressed strong
concerns against Zionists conspiracy to demolish
historic Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, warning that
if Israel was not stopped from undermining the first
Qibla of Islam than the Middle East would become
flashpoint of global destruction.
The warning was issued by Jamaat Islami central
Shoora in a resolution passed on the issue of
Palestine and Al Aqsa mosque in its 3-day meeting
chaired by Qazi Hussain Ahmad.
The Shoora congratulated Hamas and Al-Fatah for
their historic reconciliation and appealed to the
Palestinian nation to forge complete unity to
frustrate Zionists conspiracy and to liberate their
homeland from Israeli occupation.
It praised Hamas leadership for trying to establish
a national government despite having a majority, and
expressed sorrow that PA president Mahmoud Abbas
refused such a government and tried to fail Hamas
government by blocking salaries to workers and other
development funds under US dictates. The Shoora
expressed gratitude that the conspiracy to make
Palestinians fight against one another was finally
frustrated despite US and Israeli supply of arms to
Al-Fatah group.
The Shoora urged the Muslim rulers to rise up to
their basic and religious responsibility of saving
Al Aqsa mosque by taking practical measures,
reminding them that such a response in 1969 resulted
in creating OIC to protect Al Aqsa but was later
succumbed to personal and western interests. It
demanded of Muslim governments to frustrate the US
plan of forcing Muslim countries to recognize
Israel, and to make it clear to Washington that if
it continued to patronize Zionist terrorism against
Palestinians than Muslim would be forced to revoke
all agreements with Washington.
The Shoora warned that present digging under Al Aqsa
to demolish the historic Muslim site and construct
Temple of Solomon at its place was nothing but the
long Zionist conspiracies against Islam. Shoora
cited the first Israeli prime Minister Ben Gurion
saying that "Israel is meaningless without Al Quds
and Al Quds is meaningless without Temple of
Solomon." It warned that during the last one year
Israel had secretly constructed seven large
structures under the foundations of Al Aqsa mosque
and Israeli clergy has prophesized that year 2007
was most suitable for constructing Solomon's Temple.
Shoora expressed sorrow that the Israeli lobby
controlling the affairs of Washington administration
was imposing Zionist policies upon the whole world
particularly in the Middle East, and it was the
responsibility of every justice loving citizen of
the world to play his role in blocking the Zionists
conspiracies against Palestinians and Muslim world.. |

JI lashed out at Musharraf regime for lawlessness
and undermining country's ideologyyyyyy |
|
LAHORE, Feb 13: Jamaat Islami has expressed serious
concern over precarious lawlessness in the country
which has reached alarming heights during Gen
Musharraf's rule.
In a resolution passed by the JI Central Shoora in
its meeting chaired by Qazi Hussain Ahmad released
by JI media on Tuesday, said that hundreds of
dacoities and robberies are reported everyday while
the number of those go unreported are much higher,
while the number of street crimes that go unreported
are too much higher than what are reported. Now
cases of high officials of army and police being
robbed are also being reported. It seems that all
law enforcing agencies in the country have lost
their professional capabilities since they have been
used extensively by the rulers to crush political
opponents. Whereas, it is a fact that all gangs of
criminals are nurtured and promoted by rulers and
feudals, and operate under police patronage. The
rising cases of gang rapes are heart breaking for
common man which are in addition to the heinous
cases of kidnapping for ransom of minor children and
their brutal murders, that made people feel totally
insecure at the hands of criminals and rapists and
pass sleepless nights. Shoora said such a situation
portrays a totally corrupt law enforcing machinery
and an uncivilized and irresponsible government.
Shoora mentioned with concern the rising number of
suicide bomb blasts in the country and said an
official of federal government's intelligence agency
was caught red handed while planting bomb outside
NWFP chief minister's house but no action has so far
been taken against him. Mentioning the assassination
of top police officials, the Shoora expressed
serious concern over the abduction of Supreme
Court's Superintendent from the constituency of the
ruling party chief Gujrat city and had to secure
release after paying Rs 5 million ransom.
It also mentioned the alarming graph of street
crimes allegedly committed by a political group in
Karachi and Sindh allied with the ruling coalition.
It said the people of tribal areas and Balochistan
are feeling deep hatred against federation due to
the continuous military operation and massacre of
their brothers and children at the hands of army,
done only to please Washington. The Shoora appealed
to the people to organize themselves and form civic
organizations for their protection besides launching
political struggle to secure their rights.
In another resolution against rulers' efforts to
implement western conspiracy to turn the country
secular and to undermine its Islamic ideology, the
Shoora warned that all moves to remove Islamic
articles of constitution and other laws amount to
serious breach of the constitution.
It is said that the country was created in the name
of Islam but enemies launched conspiracies against
the Islamic system soon after our independence, and
such conspiracies have gained momentum after the
present rulers came to power. It said western powers
using huge money and other resources to secularize
Pakistan which included abolishing Hudood laws,
blasphemy law and anti Qadiyaniat law etc. It
mentioned that amendment in Hudood laws has in fact
made the women insecure as against the media
propaganda. It also noted with concern that
government disallow registration of any NGO formed
for protection and promotion of Islamic civilization
while western NGOs working against the ideology and
constitution of the country are being openly
registered. The shoora termed this discriminatory
attitude against Quran and Sunnah highly unfortunate
and devastating for the very security and unity of
the country. It also noted with concern that men
with beard and women with veils and hijab are being
harassed in government and private organizations,
even in the PIA whereas Islamic codes are openly
trampled and un-Islamic festivals like Basant,
Valentine day etc are celebrated under official
patronage during the 7-year Musharraf rule. |

JI Shoora held Muslim rulers' Western slavery root
cause of Ummah's problemss |
|
LAHORE, Feb 12: Jamaat-e-Islami Shoora has expressed
sorrow that all the present day problems of Ummah
are a direct result of Muslim rulers' deviation from
Islamic principles and accepting western slavery for
the sake of personal interests rather than working
for Ummah's interests and its unity.
This concern was expressed by the 3-day JI Shoora
meeting headed by Qazi Hussain Ahmad in its
resolution passed on the national and international
political situation issued by JI media on Monday.
The resolution warned that colonist forces are
implementing a well thought out conspiracy against
the independence, sovereignty, culture and beliefs
of the Muslim world. On one hand they are committing
naked aggression against several Muslim countries
including Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Kashmir,
Lebanon etc. with an agenda of Muslim genocide and
dividing them on the basis of sects, languages and
races, and on the other hand western media is
spreading a vicious propaganda terming Muslims as
terrorists and culprits in order to justify their
massacre.
The Shoora observed that during the 7-year rule of
Gen Musharraf, Pakistan's basic Islamic ideology,
identity, national unity and culture have been
subjected to serious damage in order to secularize
the nation under the western agenda. The military
rulers are again subjecting the nation to the same
western colonists against whom our ancestors had
fought a long freedom struggle to secure out
liberties, just to protect their own illegal
dictatorial rule. The Shoora termed Musharraf rule
as the darkest in the national history in which
Allah's laws were openly trampled to replace all
religious and moral values with those of secularism,
liberalism and western culture of vulgarity.
Country's women were degraded and left insecure in
the name of women rights. Dictatorship of an
individual was established in place of democracy and
strength of democratic institutions while deep gulf
was created between people and army by forcing
military dictatorship on people and their freedoms.
Country was run on the whims and wishes of an
individual instead of constitutional requirements,
thus damaging federation beyond repair and creating
deep sense of insecurity among provinces and
promoting secessionist forces that weakened the
federation and the national unity. Real dangers were
created against national security by taking U-turn
on Afghan and Kashmir policy, while serious
bloodshed was caused in tribal areas besides owning
the attacks of US forces in Bajaur and other tribal
areas to fuel the public anger against the army and
its leadership just to support the falling morale
and fierce defeat of the invading US forces at the
hands of valiant resistance of Afghan people. The
shoora expressed sorrow that military dictatorship
not only committed massacre of own countrymen but
also victimized and abducted its opponents just to
please Washington. But what Washington rewarded
Islamabad for this was the legislation of US
Congress binding US president to certify every year
that Pakistan was amply cooperating in the war
against terror, failing which its aid should be
suspended.
After aiding western forces on attacking
Afghanistan, Islamabad also deviated the 60 year old
historic and principled stance on Kashmir to throw
the valley into the lap of Delhi and now the same
game is being played with Palestinians to favor
Israel.
Balochistan issue was dangerously mishandled and
instead of negotiations unnecessary force was used
to victimize and antagonize entire Balochistan
province.
National Hero and father of country's nuclear
program Dr Qadeer Khan was humiliated and put under
detention to please Washignton. Fast deteriorating
Economic situation and Law and order have cast
devastating effects on entire population forcing
them to commit mass suicides due to hunger and
surging an alarming rise in crime rate. Even the law
enforcing agencies were left insecure as the
intelligence agencies were put only on the
surveillance on political opponents of the
dictatorial regime. Serious violations of human
rights were committed by the rulers as opponents
were abdulcted in broad day light and put in secret
jails without informing their families about their
well being. On the other hand their protesting
families were tortured and humiliated in a crude
display of dictatorship. The Shoora observed that it
has been made clear that unless Article 6 of the
constitution calling for death penalty for those
breaching the constitution was invoked and dictators
punished to death, the rule of law and human rights
situation could never be restored. Shoora condemned
President Musahrraf for running election campaign of
the ruling party in violation of the constitution
and Election rules and demanded of the opposition
parties to constitute a united opposition to rid the
country of dictatorship and restore its sovereignty
and rule of constitution and parliament. It demanded
that consensus should be created for complete
restoration of constitution, and establishment of
consensus interim government and independent
election commission to hold free and transparent
elections. It demanded of all the political and
religious parties to rise above personal and petty
interests to join hands for a lasting struggle for
restoration of democracy and constitution. It also
praised the MMA as the auspicious platform of
religious forces and symbol of religious unity in
the country which should be supported for the sake
of protecting country's Islamic identity and other
foreign challenges to Islamic ideology. |

Countrywide protests pledge protection of al-Aqsa
mosque |
|
LAHORE, Feb 09: Protest day against the Zionists
offensive attempt to demolish Al-Aqsa mosque was
observed across country on the appeal MMA president
Qazi Hussain Ahmad.
Ulema and prayer leaders in their sermons warned
against Zionist conspiracies and raised their
unanimous protests through big rallies and
demonstrations in every nook and corner of the
country.
A mammoth rally was taken out from the
Jamaat-e-Islami headquarters Mansoorah after Friday
prayer which was led by Qazi Hussain Ahmad. Large
number of shoora members, parliamentarians and
general public participated in the rally. Protestors
were chanting slogans "down with American-Zionist
nexus" and "Down with US lackeys". Marching on
Multan Road, the rally converted into mammoth pubic
meeting near Multan chungi where JI leaders Dr.
Mohammad Kamal, Dr. Farid Ahmad Piracha, MNA, Abdul
Ghaffar Aziz and Qazi Hussain Ahmad addressed the
public meeting.
Addressing emotionally charged crowd carrying
placards in their hands inscribed with anti-American
slogans and pledges to protect the first Kibla at
all cost, Qazi Hussain Ahmad demanded Muslim regimes
to integrate their military resources under the
banner of OIC to thwart Zionist aggressive designs
against the blessed al-Aqsa mosque.
Islamabad, Qazi demanded, should immediately
terminate all military related cooperation with
Washington which seek to foster to the so called US
war on terror. He said attacks against the
sanctified places and symbols of faith are nothing
short of terrorism. General Musharraf and Tel Aviv
both are unleashing this terror by demolishing
mosques, he said.
He said protection of al-Aqsa mosque is part of
every Muslims' faith but strict security measures by
the Israeli army have made access of Palestinians
hard today. Palestinians under 45 years are not
allowed to visit al-Aqsa for offering Friday prayer
while elderly people are searched thoroughly at the
military check points before reaching the haram
al-Qudsi.
Earlier, talking to reporters during the prayer
break of the JI shoora meeting on the first day Qazi
Hussain Ahmad lauded reconciliation between
Palestinian groups Hamas and al-Fatah. He said
inking of Makkah declaration will stop infighting
between these groups which emboldened the Israelis
to attack the third holiest place of Muslims.
To a question Qazi Hussain said that protection of
al-Aqsa mosque is more important than the
distribution of ministry portfolios between
Palestinians. Muslim rulers will be responsible for
any damage caused to al-Aqsa mosque if they did not
act upon to check the Zionist designs at this moment
of time. |

JI shoora condemns curbs on press freedom |
|
LAHORE, Feb 11: The Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has
mocked government's claim of press freedom saying
that military dictator General Pervez is out to
muzzle the voice of free press by using oppressive
measures ranging from killing, kidnapping
and harassment of journalists in Pakistan.
The party also demanded tracing whereabouts of
missing Editor Sohail Kalandar besides bringing the
killers of senior journalists like Hayatuallah [The
Nation], Munir Ahmad Sangi [KTN], Maqbool Hussain
Sael [Online], Mohammad Ismael [PPI] and Makhdoom
Rafiq [Sindhi paper Nijat] to books.
This concern and demand was made by the JIP through
a unanimously adopted resolution by its central
council (shoora) on Sunday. The JI shoora is in
session [Feb 9-11] to discuss and debated the
country's prevalent political situation and carve
out future strategy to rid the country from military
dictatorship once for all. The meeting was chaired
by Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad.
A
resolution about the media-men noted with great
concern that five journalist were killed during the
year 2006 while performing their professional
duties. Enlisting the names of assassinated
media-men the JI resolution said that even foreign
journalists working in Pakistan are not safe from
the highhandedness of so called media friendly
regime of General Pervez Musharraf. "The handing
over of al-Jazeera cameraman Sami al-Hajj to US
forces for dispatch to
Guantanamo Bay speaks of the shameful
treatment meted out to international journalists in
Pakistan.
Condemning the curbs on media-men encumbering
performance of their professional duties, the
resolution added that media is not allowed to cover
the incidents in Bajour and other tribal areas. Even
journalists were barred from interviewing survival
of Bajour carnage and when some media folk managed
to reach them, the injured were shifted to unknown
places against the doctors' advice. The brutal
police torture on journalists covering Marriott
Hotel bombing is the latest incident of state terror
unleashed against the press, the resolution
concluded. |

Qazi makes fervent appeal to protect first Kibla |
|
LAHORE, Feb 08:
The MMA president and Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad has made a passionate appeal to Muslim
world to take serious notice of the latest attempt
of Zionist authorities to demolish historic Al Aqsa
mosque and chalk out a unanimous strategy by calling
a meeting of entire Muslim world.
He made this appeal while addressing the reception
hosted in honor of visiting assistant minister of
Saudi ministry of religious affairs, Shaikh Abdul
Aziz bin Abdullah Al Ammar and his delegation at
Mansoorah on Thursday. Former president Rafiq Tarar,
religious leaders and scholars from all schools of
thought and notables were also present on the
occasion.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said it was high time that entire
Muslim populations particularly the Muslim leaders
and governments should come out to protect the Al
Aqsa and the Muslim honor at the hands of Zionists.
He stressed upon countries like Saudi Arabia,
Pakistan and Iran that it was their duty to stand up
for the defense of Muslim world against the
conspiracies of the enemies of Islam. He warned the
Muslim world that it should be aware of the enemy
conspiracies to divide Muslims in sects, regions and
dubbing them as extremists and moderates, urging
them to frustrate all those conspiracies by
maintaining total unity in their ranks. He said it
was height of cruelty that the west had waged a
vicious war on Muslims and Islam at world level but
on the other hand Muslims were being dubbed as
terrorists.
He reminded that World Muslim Congress was formed
when Israelis first tried to arson the blessed Al
Aqsa. He cited Quranic verses and asked the Muslims
to become what Allah Almighty has wanted them to be
in the light of Quran. He said all Muslims look up
to the Saudi leadership as the custodians of the
Holy places and thus leaders of all Muslim Ummah.
The Saudi assistant Minister Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah
Al Ammar supported Qazi's voice of concern at the
persecution of Muslim Ummah by the west, saying
enemies wanted to eliminate the Muslims' identity.
He urged upon the Muslims to forge complete unity
among their ranks by rising above all kinds of
differences without which they could not counter the
conspiracies. He said Saudi leadership wanted to
pull entire Ummah on one platform and forge unity
among its ranks. He said Saudi leadership called
Hamas and Al Fatah leadership to sort out their
differences by sitting at the Holy land of Makkah.
He praised both sides for trying to patch up their
differences to counter the Zionists. He expressed
hopes that Muslims would rise to the occasion by
improving their attitudes and renewing their efforts
to overcome their shortcomings and differences, and
once again become a global power.
The reception was attended among others by Hafiz
Hussain Ahmad, Pir Ijaz Hashmi, Hafiz Abdul Rehman
Madani, Maulana Ameer Hamza, Ibtesam Ilahi Zaheer,
Mustafa Ashraf Rizvi, Qari Zawwar Bahadur, and ulema
and scholars representing all schools of thought.
Later, talking to newsmen, Qazi appealed to the
Pakistani people to observe Friday (today) as a
protest day against the Zionists offensive attempt
to demolish Al Aqsa. Terming it a big conspiracy
against the whole Muslim world, Qazi said all ulema
and prayer leaders should create awareness to the
masses about Zionists conspiracies against Muslims
and raise their unanimous protests. He said protests
should be loud enough to realize the patrons of
Israel, the west, that entire Muslim world was
united against its vicious conspiracies.
Qazi asked the OIC leadership to play its role, "if
it had some life left in it."
About his declaration to resign even if nobody else
did, Qazi said he was head of a party and hence
bound by the opinions of party members. He said
resignation issue would be settled once and for all
on Feb 13 at MMA supreme council meeting. He however
said that PPP and PML-N should also be consulted on
resignation issue. He said the basic issue facing
the country was to discharge the armed forces from
political field and redirect them to their
constitutional role so that the widening gulf
between army and people could be bridged and country
could be saved from further chaos and mismanagement.
He said MMA leadership frustrated those elements
that were waiting for the break up of MMA.

Qazi asks Ghani to ensure ceasefire among warring tribes |
|
LAHORE, Feb 10: MUttahid Majlis Amal president and
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has
appealed to the Governor of Balochistan, Mr Awais
Ghani, to take immediate notice of the armed clashes
between several tribes in Gulistan area and take
measures for early ceasefire and reconciliation
among the warring groups so as to stop the
bloodshed.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad made this appeal in his written
letter to Governor Balochistan, according to a press
release issued by JI media on Saturday.
In his letter, Qazi Hussain Ahmad cited reports
saying that for the last many days several tribes
were involved in bloody armed clashes while taking
entrenched positions in Gulistan area near Quetta
claiming several lives. He said those warring tribes
included Malizai, Ghizai, Shamsuzai and Tareen who
are located very close to one another and were
involved in a bloody battle by setting up bunkers.
He said the fighting has badly affected
Quetta-Chaman road which is an important commercial
route. He appealed to the Governor to take immediate
measures for ceasefire and ensuring peace among the
warring tribes.

Qazi has taken strong exception to proposals about
the replacement of US troops |
|
LAHORE, Feb 02: The MMA president and Ameer of
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmad has
taken strong exception to proposals about the
replacement of US troops with that of armies from
the Islamic world and said such proposals are coming
from the quarters who wish to prove themselves more
loyal to the king than the king himself.
"The United States in not willing to trust General
Pervez Musharraf despite the fact that as many as
750 Pakistani troops have been killed while fighting
the so called US war against terror. The American
mistrust is evident from the recent moves to seek
the Law from Congress to seize Islamabad's military
aid for its failure in controlling the Taliban
influx into Pakistan."
He was delivering Friday sermon at Jamia mosque
Mansoorah. Qazi Hussain Ahmad said media hype
created during the visit of General Pervez Musharraf
to Middle East countries vanished away the hopes
when he pleaded for recognizing Israel on his
return. He is making his utmost effort to sell the
American agenda and secure protection, from
Washington, for his unconstitutional rule in
Pakistan. But, Qazi said, Bush is not willing to
trust him despite all kind support.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said the root cause of increasing
suicide is not the economic factor rather it is the
mental distress caused due to western wave of
vulgarity unleashed in our bedroom through cable
etc. He said people were more deprived and poor
fifty years ago than today but no one committed
suicide at that time. Now, the capitalist system has
increased divide between the have and haves not.
The MMA leader warned that foreign powers have
pitched the Muslims against each other by fanning
parochial differences amongst them. Due to this
reason, the oblivious youth resort to extreme action
on the basis of provoking speeches. He said the
Muslim Ummah can get back their glory of earlier
days provided they hold the rope of Quran and Sunnah
strongly in their hands.. |

Qazi said the purpose of president Musharraf's visit
to five countries of Middle East was to turn
Palestine into Israel |
|
LAHORE, Jan 26:
The MMA preisdnet and Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad has said that the purpose of president
Musharraf's visit to five countries of Middle East
was to turn Palestine into Israel. Gen Musharraf is
also trying to solve Kashmir by giving it to India,
he said while delivering Friday sermon at Mansoorah.
Qazi said Musharraf raised slogan of Pakistan First
claiming that its purpose was to become ally of US,
India and Israel but it actually served the
interests of India and Isarel. He said unity of the
nation was extremely necessary to get rid of such
rulers.
Qazi warned that Washington was pushing the whole
world to violence to satisfy her ego of being the
most materially superior country and the American
public looked worried of the situation. Qazi further
warned that in order to get out of Iraq Washington
has a dangerous conspiracy of dividing the country
into Shia, Sunni and Kurd regions, and it also
wanted to spread that conspiracy to whole Muslims
world in order to disintegrate it into small and
easily controllable states.
Qazi said after continuous attacks from Afghan side
into Pakistani territory exposed Musharraf's slogan
of Pakistan First since the country was being
attacked and victimized against India despite
offering all kinds of 'services' and even its
territorial sovereignty and security of its citizens
were not safe.
He said military rulers were shamelessly claiming
responsibility of all the attacks of Nato and Allied
forces from Afghan side killing scores of innocent
civilians while secret agencies were abducting
citizens including senior journalists and nobody
found any clue of them for years. Their families
demonstrating on streets for their release were
beaten up and tortured by police. |

Qazi warns against repercussions of Musharraf visit
to me |
|
LAHORE, Jan 25: The MMA president and
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad
has said General Pervez Musharraf is promoting ties
with Israel and India while his actions are making
the institution of army controversial. The
unilateral concessions to India on Kashmir are given
under international pressure. Solution to the
Kashmir problem lies in implementation of the UN
resolutions.
He expressed these views while talking to group of
students from Govt degree college Zhob (Balochistan)
who called on him at Mansoorah the other day. Qazi
Hussain Ahmad said that the opposition can only foil
the anti-Islam agenda of General Pervez Musharraf by
forging unity in its ranks. "We are trying to unite
the opposition on minimum common points so that
military dictatorship in the country could be
brought to an end.
To a question, he said, free and fair elections with
General Pervez Musharraf in the power are
impossible. We believe that elections under
uniformed president will disgruntle the masses and
their belief in positive change through elections
will be badly shattered. Qazi Hussain Ahmad said our
manifesto pleads for proving food, education, health
and other basic necessities to the poor.
He lashed out at Islamabad's failed foreign policy
saying: "dependency of foreign masters has seriously
compromised sovereignty of Pakistan." The killing of
Pakistani soldiers is direct result of this foreign
dependency. |

Anas Noorani calls on JI Ameer |

JI demands protection for newsmen |
|
LAHORE, Jan 21: Central Secretary Information
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Shahid Shamsi has expressed
concern over the increasing incidents of abduction
of journalists in Pakistan.
In a statement on Sunday Shahid Shamsi demanded
tracing where about of missing Editor of an Urdu
daily Sohail Kalandar from Peshawar. He questioned
the tall claims of freedom of expression during the
Musharraf era saying that human right organizations
taking the stock of abuses against media-men have
pointed out that Pakistan was ranked amongst the top
ten countries where life of newsmen is exposed to
dangers.
Shahid Shamsi was of the view that protection of
human life and especially of the newsmen is
imperative for a government which trumpets the
slogans of enlighten moderation and civil liberties.
The kidnapping of citizens by sleuths of state
agencies and silencing the free press by taking them
into custody have always been scar on the face of
every military dictator. |

Qazi addresses IJT annual meeting |
|
LAHORE, Jan 20: The MMA president and ameer
of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmad has
said New Delhi is fully backed by the western power
to fortify her illegal occupation over Kashmir. "The
colonial west has launched all out attack against
the Islamic world and exploiting its military might
to enslave the Muslims for coming the decades.
Addressing the annual meeting of Islami Jamiat
Talbaat [IJT] here at Mansoorah on Friday night Qazi
Hussain Ahmad said the US army is entering in our
tribal areas after Iraq and Afghanistan. They can
easily hit any target with the logistic support of
Pakistan; Qazi deplored expressing grave concern
over the cruel practices unleashed by the government
agencies in tribal areas. He said tens of thousand
people are missing in the country. "Despite the
Supreme Court's directives their where about could
not be traced."
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that the tool of material
advancement is used by the west to change culture
and civilization of Muslims. The rulers are amending
Islamic laws under the western pressure so that the
Muslim society is exposed to anarchy and our family
system is shattered. The west had already seen the
negative impacts of dents in the family unit but it
is not willing to pay heed on it.
This upset, he pointed out, registered substantial
hike in the number of single-parent children in
their society. He urged the girl students to focus
their attention on their education and try to create
awakening in their folks enabling them to counter
the social and cultural onslaught of the west. The
promotion of modest culture is duty of every Muslim
woman, he concluded. |
